 | David M. Morrison, LL.B. '81, President, Morrison Financial Services Limited
 | Mr. Morrison is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School of York University ('81). In 1987, he left the practice of law to form Morrison Financial Services Limited. The Company’s focus at that time was to provide asset-based financing to small and medium-sized businesses that did not qualify for working capital credit under the stringent terms normally imposed by the major banks. This continues as the Company's main business today. During its 22-year history, however, Morrison Financial has expanded its range of service offerings to include mortgage lending, as well as a specialty product lending to condominium corporations that require funds to complete major repairs to their properties.
Mr. Morrison is married with two children. His wife is a Family Physician and, apart from his financial services involvements, Mr. Morrison participates in the ownership and operation of the successful multi-doctor medical office in which she practices.
Mr. Morrison advises that, during the 22 years it took him to become an overnight success, he has survived pretty well every challenge that a sometimes harsh business world can throw at an entrepreneur, prospering throughout. He attributes the fact that he remains standing and available to talk about his experiences today, to a relentless entrepreneurial spirit from which he could not separate himself even if he wanted to do so. |
