 | Slava Levin is President, CEO, and Co-founder of Ethnic Channels Group Limited- Canada’s premier multi-language channel operator. Mr. Levin is also President and CEO of NEXTV. He is an experienced media executive with an extensive background in ethnic media start-up, distribution and marketing. Mr. Levin holds an Architectural Drafting Degree from Humber College.
From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Levin served as Chief Operating Officer with NTV America- a major European television network in the United States. Mr. Levin served as the President of Operations for TVR Networks (USA) between 1999 and 2001. He served as President and Co-founder of International Satellite Antenna Services Ltd. Mr. Levin was also President and Co-founder of Levin Media Inc. which, at that time, was the sole Canadian programming rights holder for SkyView World Media- a US multi-ethnic broadcaster between 1993 through 1999.
Mr. Levin was instrumental in obtaining 54 Category 2 Broadcast Distribution Licenses from the CRTC (Canadian Radio Telecommunications Commission) for the Ethnic Channels Group Limited. He is the pioneer of 24-hour Russian language television in Canada. His extensive ethnic media background consists of acquisitions, marketing, sales, distribution and operations.
Mr. Levin is a Co-founding member and current Board member of EBA – Ethnic Broadcaster of America. EBA is a non-profit, mutual benefit association that was formed to promote the interests of international programmers serving the North American market. Mr. Levin is also a member of IBG – Independent Broadcaster Group. IBG is an amalgamation of unaffiliated and independent Canadian pay, specialty and conventional broadcasters which was established in 2007 to serve as an advocacy voice for its members on policy and regulatory issues.
