To celebrate Schulich School of Business' 40th anniversary the NMLP will hold a networking social which will be followed by a panel discussion titled “Business, Leadership and the Public Good”. We will hear from two key business leaders who have been actively engaged in strengthening the work of the community sector using different approaches and strategies to effect positive change.
Mr. Alan Broadbent is Chairman and CEO of Avana Capital Corporation, a private investment holding company. In support of its investment activities, Avana initiates various civic engagement projects. Mr Broadbent is also Chairman of the Maytree Foundation, the Caledon Institute of Social Policy and the Tamarack Institute, a community development organization.
Ms. Julie Di Lorenzo is President of Diamante Urban Corporation, a leading Toronto builder and a prominent voice for the real estate development industry in the city. She is committed to her industry and her city and serves as a spokesperson for the development industry and an advisor and board member for a large number of significant civic and community organizations.
This event is planned for Wednesday May 30, 2007 at the Schulich School of Business. A networking reception starts at 6:00pm with live jazz by Quintessential Boys who have just released their first CD. This will be followed by the panel presentation from approximately 7.15pm- 8.30 pm which includes a question and answer period.
This is an opportunity for you to reacquaint yourselves with former and current colleagues/program graduates, meet other leaders in the nonprofit and business world and make new friends in an informal and relaxed setting. We look forward to seeing you there!
