General Travel Protocols
The School encourages participation in international, national and regional conferences, case competitions, and many more extra-curricular activities that foster greater expertise in one’s area of academic studies.
In order to ensure awareness and facilitate risk management, travellers should follow the following protocol:
1. Schulich Protocol (Please submit the forms to the International Relations Office)
- For individual members of the Schulich community:
- Emergency Contact Information form
- Liability Waiver
- For trips abroad, ensure that your personal information is updated on Passport York (under 'My Student Records', 'My Personal Info')
- Undergraduate proposal for Group Travel (Event Proposal Form) or
- Graduate proposal for Group Travel (Event Proposal Form)
For Schulich Clubs, or sanctioned groups:

Prior to travelling, it is imperative that one reviews the Government of Canada Web site for travel advisories as well as registering prior to travelling with Foreign Affairs.

Travelling Safely and Wisely
The following is a brief checklist of considerations when travelling to ensure your safety.
Predeparture Orientation
All students going on exchange or on an internship abroad must participate in an orientation facilitated by the Office of International Relations. Dates and times will be sent to the students involved. Some topics to be covered include:- Passports
- Visas
- Dual Citizenship
- Medical clearance and proof of vaccination
- Power of attorney
- Insurance
