Appointed Executive Director of the Schulich School’s groundbreaking Schulich MBA in India Program in 2009, Professor Joshi was previously MBA Program Director in the Schulich School, as well as Co-Director of the York Consulting Group. His Academic Specialization is Marketing. His Research Interests include Business-to-Business Marketing/Marketing Within Channels of Distribution; India; New Product Development; and Sales Force Management & Personal Selling. His consulting work is closely tied to his research interests. He has worked with both industrial and service firms in the areas of new product development, supplier relationship management and salesforce management. Professor Joshi has taught in Schulich programs at all levels, including the BBA/iBBA, MBA, PhD and Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA. He has also taught in the School’s Division of Executive Education. Professor Joshi developed a special MBA course titled “Case Analysis and Presentation Skills”. Over the years, he coached graduates of this course when they entered national and international case competitions. His work in this area has been largely responsible for the School’s winning increasing numbers of competitions in recent years. Professor Joshi is a recipient of the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada. In addition, he has received Best Paper Awards on three separate occasions from the American Marketing Association. His research has appeared in the Journal of Marketing, the premier international journal in the field. He received Seymour Schulich Teaching Excellence Awards at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a former board member of EIPROC (a Canadian association of South Asian Professionals) Ashwin raised funds annually for university-level entrance scholarships for students of South Asian Origin and for charitable causes such as the Yee Hong Medical Center, Doctors Without Borders, and the Partnership in Literacy Initiative for the Nishnawbe Aski Aboriginal Nation.
