New to Schulich
Congratulations and welcome to students beginning graduate studies at the Schulich School of Business! By entering the Master of Finance program, you are embarking on an educational experience that will be challenging and rewarding. To prepare students for a smooth transition to Schulich and academic success in the program, we have developed a comprehensive orientation program which is outlined below. Attendance is mandatory. We have also compiled a list of useful links on the right to help you easily find specific information.
Preparing for your Studies
If you would like to brush up on your background in Finance then you may consider signing up for the online Finance course offered by the Harvard Business Review.
The course will act as a refresher for those that have a B.Comm or a BBA and is strongly recommended for those that are entering the MF program with a degree in a discipline other than Business. The course will take a total of 7-9 hours to complete. It will help to prepare you for the Capital Markets course that begins in August.
You can find more information about the course and register on the Harvard Business Review website. The course number is 1001HF and the title is Finance: Introductory Section by Timothy A. Luehrman.
Your Master of Finance program will start with an orientation exclusively designed for this unique program. You will have a chance to meet fellow classmates, your future professors and other key members at the School. You will be introduced to the variety of services offered at Schulich, participate in an evening reception and meet alumni of the program. Attendance is mandatory.

Launch Week Schedule
Launch Week is a collection of academic and social events organized for incoming Schulich Master's level students. It is a great way to meet other incoming students who will start their program in September and learn more about clubs, student organizations, and publications.
Enrolment & Registration
Once you have booked the Academic Planning session, enrolment & registration information will be emailed to you directly, including your Fall/Winter schedule. You will then be permitted to enrol in courses before attending your session. Please review the 2012-2013 Master of Finance Handbook, which provides a program overview, course descriptions, as well as academic rules and regulations. Handbooks are revised every June and made available to students online and in hard copy at this Academic Planning session.
Please let us know if there are other new student topics we can add to this reference site at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 416-736-5303 (option 2).
