Career Opportunities
Graduates will be suitable for employment as a finance specialist in investment banks, private equity firms, corporate finance divisions of large companies, central banks, consulting companies and government agencies. The Richard Waugh Career Centre at the Schulich School provides career counselling and assists in the placement of graduates. Selected employers who have extended offers to students in the MF program include: CAI Capital Management, Greystone Managed Investments, BMO Capital Markets, National Bank Financial, FINCAD, Macquarie Capital Advisors, TD Securities, CIBC Risk Management, HSBC, Deloitte, Scotia Capital, CIBC World Markets, RBC Dominion Securities, PwC, IBM (China), Investor Economics, Harbert Management Corporation (Private Equity), Bennett Jones LLP (Beijing), KPMG (Risk Consulting), Minsheng Securities (Beijing) and the Bank of Canada.
Further, because of the research components inherent in the curriculum, the MF will also serve as an excellent foundation for students wishing to pursue a PhD in finance.
