Requirement Checklist

The general admission requirements for the MBA are listed below. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission, as space in each program is limited. A holistic approach is taken during the application review process and all components of the application are thoroughly reviewed.

  1. An undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work.
    • Applicants with 3-year degrees may be considered for admission with one year of work experience beyond the required minimum.
  2. Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
    • Acceptable scores on all measures of the GMAT or GRE
    • To send your GMAT or GRE test scores to the Schulich School of Business, please use the following process:
      • GMAT: Use the search function within your GMAT/GMAC account to search for the Schulich School of Business when selecting your score recipients.
        • Example of how our name appears: York University, Schulich School of Business, Program Name (ie. Master of Business Administration, Master of Finance, Master of Supply Chain Management, etc.)
      • GRE: Send your score using the following code: 5697
  3. Work Experience
    • Minimum two years of relevant post-degree, full-time work experience or life experience
  4. Completion of the online application which requires:

Applicants who have completed at least two years of full-time study at an accredited university in a country (or institution) where English is the official language of instruction are not required to submit an English proficiency test.


Students who have graduated from Schulich within the last five years are eligible for the following:

  •  GMAT/GRE waiver
    • If the student achieved a B+ or better GPA during their last two years of undergraduate studies at Schulich, or cumulatively across the Master of Management (MMgt) program
  • A $150 application fee waiver

The MBA program is offered on a full-time and part-time basis. Both full-time and part-time studies start in September and January. The Part-Time downtown cohort starts in September only. Not all courses are offered downtown. Domestic applicants are considered for admission on a rolling basis. International applicants will be reviewed following each round deadline and may be held for further review in subsequent rounds if additional information is required.

* International students are strongly encouraged to apply by Round 2 to allow for sufficient study permit processing time.

The flexibility of the Schulich MBA program allows students to study full-time or part-time, during the daytime or evenings, and at a combination of the uptown Keele Campus and Miles S. Nadal Management Centre in downtown Toronto.

The MBA curriculum is offered on a full-time and part-time basis, and students may switch between full-time and part-time status as the need arises during their degree. Both full-time and part-time studies at Keele campus start in September (Fall term) and January (Winter term). Note that students who wish to study part-time at the Nadal (downtown) campus must begin the program in September (Fall term) only.

Not all courses are offered on weekends or downtown.

  • Typical course load is 15.00 credits (5 courses)
 Part-time course load = 1.50 – 7.50 credits (1 – 2.5 courses)

The MBA curriculum includes 33.00 credits of core courses designed to equip students with a common set of capabilities necessary for effective management in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

In addition to foundational core courses, students have the opportunity to complete 27.00 credits of electives, allowing for deeper exploration in a particular area of focus, completion of a specialization or pursuit of a diploma.

As the capstone of the program, students will participate in the Strategy Field Study. In this exciting consulting project spanning two terms, teams conduct a strategic assessment of an organization and its environment, and present recommendations to senior management.

Students are eligible for graduation upon their successful completion of 60.00 credits. Students may shorten the duration to complete their MBA if they receive Advanced Standing.

Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA)

Reaching-Out-MBA-Fellowship

Reaching Out MBA‘s mission is to increase the influence of the LGBT+ community in business by educating, inspiring, and connecting MBA students and alumni. The ROMBA LGBT+ Fellowship Program is a joint effort between prominent business schools and Reaching Out to develop the out LGBT+ and active ally business leaders of tomorrow. As a ROMBA partner school, Schulich is dedicated to award up to two fellowships to eligible incoming MBA students. Each Fellow will receive a minimum $20,000 scholarship and access to exclusive leadership programming including an all-expenses-paid retreat by ROMBA.

To be considered as a ROMBA Fellow, you must submit an MBA application for the Fall (September) intake and indicate your interest of being considered as a ROMBA Fellow to your admission officer. Access to Success

Access to Success

Access to Success Organization is a Toronto-based not-for-profit that supports the development of future leaders with disabilities and assistive tech. It manages several unprecedented initiatives, including up to $90,000 in annual Access to Success Fellowships for MBA students with disabilities at four of Canada’s top business schools, the world’s first study on disability inclusion in MBA programs, and ATS Labs – Canada’s first accelerator for accessibility startups. As an Access to Success partner school, Schulich is dedicated to award up to three fellowships to eligible incoming MBA students. Each Fellow will receive a $5,000 fellowship along with personalized recruiting support, networking, mentorship, and other exclusive opportunities provided by the Access to Success Organization.

The Access to Success Fellowship is established and managed by the Access to Success Organization, a not-for-profit that supports the development of future leaders with disabilities. This merit-based Fellowship celebrates outstanding students who identify as having a disability and have demonstrated excellence in academic, professional or extracurricular areas.
