TORONTO

Over 200 alumni and friends gathered at the Le Meridien King Edward Hotel to hear Bruce Flatt, Senior Managing Partner & Chief Executive Officer, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. deliver the Real Estate Perspectives Lecture on October 28th, “How to Invest in Global Real Estate and Global Infrastructure”. Mr. Tim Price, Chairman, Brookfield Funds, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. and member of the Dean’s Advisory Council, Schulich School of Business, was present to introduce Mr. Flatt. The informative and insightful lecture was enjoyed by all. BEJING

Dean Horvath joined 12 alumni in Beijing on September 29 to discuss Schulich's recent ranking in the Wall Street Journal, which now places Schulich 15th in the world.

TORONTO

The Schulich Real Property Alumni Association held its 3rd and last breakfast of the year at the National Club on Sept 23rd. The topic was "New Office Supply and Impact on Toronto's Leasing Market" and the panelists were Sandy McNair, President of Altus InSite and Peter Stafl, Senior Director of Leasing at GWL Realty Advisors. The breakfast was sold out with over 75 attendees.

HONG KONG
At a recent event in Hong Kong, John Farina, MBA '81, President and Chief Financial Officer of Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. spoke with 22 alumni at the Banker's Club. Special thanks to China Chapter President, Jonathan Cheung, MBA '73, for organizing a great alummi gathering.

TORONTO

Damon Knights, IMBA '06, accepted a $20,000 sponsorship from Xerox Canada, helping Xerox meet current diversity objectives by providing access to the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) talent pool for internships and new hires. In addition, NBMBAA scholarships, co-branded with Xerox will promote graduate, undergraduate, and high school education for the development of the next generation of Canadian business leaders

GUANGZHOU

Dr. Bernie Wolf, Director, International MBA Program and Professor of Economics and International Business took time out of his busy schedule over the summer and met up with alumnus Salim Aboudaoud, MBA '05 in Guangzhou. The two enjoyed catching up over dinner at the Asia Pacific International Club. Our thanks to Salim for organizing the dinner.

TORONTO

The Schulich Real Property Alumni Association held its second breakfast of the year on Jul 24th at the National Club, attended by 75 alumni and friends from the real estate, banking and consulting industries. This event coincided with the restructuring and renaming of the Real Property Program to Real Estate and Infrastructure.

SHANGHAI

In July, over 25 alumni enjoyed the presentation, Revisiting the Outlook of the China Stock Market, given by by Ng Fengshu and Heng Kun, MBA '02, in Shanghai. Special thank you to China Chapter President Jonathan Cheung, MBA '73, for his continued support in alumni relations initiatives, including the new
Schulich China Web Site.

LONDON

London, England was the first stop on the Dean’s recent tour of Europe, where the Dean met up with Roma Khanna, MBA '01, recipient of the 2008 Alumni Recognition Award for Outstanding Progress and Achievement.

The London visit included an alumni reception with more than 25 alumni attending.

A special thank you to England Chapter President, Charmaine Hoo, MBA '96, for co-ordinating the successful event that was enjoyed by all.

FRANKFURT

Arriving in Frankfort just in time to see Germany defeat Turkey in the semi-final of Euro 2008, the Dean enjoyed a celebratory evening with alumni as he updated his past students on Schulich’s recent progress.

GENEVA

Alumni in Geneva, Switzerland had an opportunity to meet with the Dean and to network with each other during Dean Horváth’s final stop in Europe.

SHENZHEN

China Chapter President, Jonathan Cheung, MBA '73, met with 13 alumni in Shenzhen on June 14th to update the group about recent activities and to promote
the new and improved website with more than 170 alumni registered on the site.
